PUBLIC WARNING SYSTEM STATEWIDE DRILL - APRIL 2, 2026
On Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the request of Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), a statewide test of emergency alerting systems will occur between 10:00am and 12:30pm.  As part of this drill, local jurisdictions across Texas may test systems used to notify the public during emergencies.  Depending on the systems used by your local jurisdiction and/or the jurisdiction you are in at the time of the test, residents may receive a test alert on their mobile phone and/or hear outdoor warning sirens during this time.

Because jurisdictions across the region may participate in this test, you may receive more than one test alert on your phone during the testing window.

This will only be a test. No emergency action is required.

Testing helps ensure emergency alert systems function properly and allows agencies to evaluate how alerts are delivered during real emergencies.

If you think you have flood or other damage, contact Jeff York at the San Angelo Council of Governments at(325) 947-8729, Ext. 402, or cell (325) 234-0251.  You will need to take pictures of the damage in order to support your claim.
